HOW SAFE-CHEK WORKS:

Your bank automatically sends any returned checks directly to SAFE-CHEK.

The day SAFE-CHEK receives a dishonored check from your bank, we will send your office an acknowledgement listing the date of check, writer's name, and amount of the check. This will allow you to adjust your bank book. SAFE-CHEK will immediately begin check recovery. That same day a notice will be mailed to the check writer informing them of their returned check. A courtesy call is made and a promise to pay date is set to receive payment.

SAFE-CHEK adds a minimum service fee of $25.00 to each check, as allowed by law. THIS SERVICE FEE IS PAID BY THE CHECK WRITER. When the check is recovered, SAFE-CHEK retains the fee and remits to you 100% of the original face amount of the check plus any bank charges you incurred as a result of the returned check.

SAFE-CHEK is one of the oldest and most established check recovery services in the Gulf Coast area. Our experience has shown that it takes an average of four to eight phone calls after the first notice is mailed to recover a bad check. The SAFE-CHEK computer

system monitors all promises to pay and rework dates and automatically flags any debtor accounts when we receive additional checks on the same check writer.

In the event a bad check writer should not respond to our intial recovery efforts, SAFE-CHEK will mail a Certified Notice to the check writer. This step in the recovery process is done at no extra charge to you. The Certified Notice content and form complies with the requirements of the state statutes in which we operate. This step in the recovery process fulfills the prerequisite for prosecution, should it become necessary.

Even though SAFE-CHEK has one of the highest recovery rates in the industry, we know that some checks will only be recovered through the affidavit process.

In the event our normal recovery process does not result in the recovery of your worthless check, we will return to you the un-recovered check, proof of Certified Notice, all correspondence related to our recovery attempts, and a completed Affidavit for filing with the State Attorney's Office.
